Okulumuzun Tarihçesi 

Kadim şehir Erzurum 'un tanıtımına; ekonomik, sosyal ve kültürel hayatına katkı sağlayacak Erzurum Olgunlaşma Enstitüsü 04.01.2019 tarihinde 23. Olgunlaşma Enstitüsü olarak faaliyetine başladı. Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı Hayat Boyu Öğrenme Genel Müdürlüğüne bağlı olan kurumumuzun hizmet binası, şehrimizin sembolü olan tarihi Çifte Minareli Medrese ve Üç Kümbetlerin de olduğu tarihi bir semtinde bulunmaktadır.

Enstitünün hizmetlerini sürdürdüğü tarihi Şair Nefi Ortaokulu binasının Kültür Yolu Projesi üzerinde yer alması da kurumumuza ayrı bir vizyon katmaktadır. Tarihi Şair Nefi binasında 1889 yılında Abdülhamit Han'ın katkılarıyla idadi (lise) binası hizmet vermeye başlar. 1891 yılında Erzurum Rüştiye Okulu ile birleşir. 1913 yılında idadi binası Sultaniyeye dönüştürülür. 1914 yılında Sultaniye de kapanır. Bina 1925 yılında Erkek Öğretmen Okulu olarak hizmet vermeye başlar. 1942 yılından sonra ise Kız Orta Mektebi olarak hizmet verecektir. 1957 yılında Atatürk Üniversitesi eğitim öğretime bu binada başlayacaktır. Kampüs yerleşkesi bittikten sonra üniversite mevcut kampüsüne geçer.

1971-72 eğitim öğretim yılından sonrada binada karma ortaokul eğitim vermeye başlar. 2019 yılında enstitü hizmete başlayıncaya kadar bina ortaokul olarak hizmet etmiştir. 

Olgunlaşma enstitüsü kaybolmaya yüz tutmuş el sanatlarının ustalarını yetiştirip iş istihdamı sağlayarak tarihimizi modern hayatla birleştirerek sorumlu olduğu bölgeye ve şehre canlılık katmıştır. Erzurum'un marka kurumlarından biri olmaya aday Erzurum Olgunlaşma Enstitüsü kaybolmaya yüz tutmuş geleneksel el sanatlarımızı ve bölgenin folklorik özelliklerini yeniden gün yüzüne çıkarması açısından büyük önem arz etmektedir.

Gelecek nesillere, geçmişimizin yaşantılarını, yiyecek içecek kültürünü ve folklorik yapımızı aktarırken yöremizin bütün şekil ve desenlerini vererek geçmişle modern hayat arasında köprü olacaktır. Bu amaçla iki yıllık eğitimden sonra mezun edilen öğrenciler kurum ve kuruluşlarda usta, usta öğretici ve tasarımcı olarak istihdam edilirler. Ana hedef yetiştirdiği iş gücünün milli ekonomiye katkı vermesi, kadının sosyal statüsünün yükseltilmesi ve nitelikli eleman yetiştirilmesi şeklindedir.

Enstitümüz; Erzurum,  Bayburt, Kars, Ardahan, Ağrı ve Iğdır illerini kapsayacak şekilde bu illerin kültürlerinin ve folklorik yapılarının eşsiz bir kaynak olduğu inancı ile üretme ve tanıtma görevinin yanı sıra duygusal tarihimizi de gün yüzüne çıkararak nesilden nesle aktarmak üzere var gücüyle çalışmaktadır. Türk iğnesinin mucizesi olan olgunlaşma enstitülerinin bir parçası olan Erzurum Olgunlaşma Enstitüsü de kadim bir medeniyet olan Erzurum şehrine ve çevresine hizmet etmek için gayret etmektedir.

     Erzurum Maturation Institute, which will contribute to the promotion of Erzurum and its economic, cultural and social life, started its activities on 04.01.2019 as the 23rd Maturation Institute. The building of our institution, which is affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, General Directorate of Lifelong Learning, is located in a historical district with "Çifte Minareli Medrese and Üç Kümbetler" , which is the symbol of our city.

     The historical Şair Nefi Secondary School building, where our institute continues its services, being on the Culture Road project also adds a different vision to our institution.The high school building begins to serve in the historical Şair Nefi building in 1889 with the contribution of Abdulhamit Han. In 1891, it conjoins with the Erzurum Rüştiye. In 1913, the high school building was been converted into a Sultaniye.In 1914 the Sultaniye closes ,too. The building begins to serve as a" Male Teacher School" in 1925. After 1942, it will been served as a girls' secondary school. In 1957, Atatürk University will been started education in this building. After the campus building is finished, the university moves to its own campus.

    After the 1971-72 academic year, mixed secondary education begins in the building. The building ,was  served as a secondary school until the institute started  in 2019. The Maturation Instıtute has brought vitality to the region and the city it is responsible for by training the masters of handicrafts that are about to disappear and by providing employment, combining our history with modern life. Erzurum Maturation Institute, which is a candidate to become one of the brand institutions of Erzurum, is of great importance in terms of revealing our traditional handicrafts that are about to disappear and the folkloric characteristics of the region.

    It will be a bridge between the past and the modern life by giving all the shapes and patterns of our region while conveying the lives of our past, food and beverage culture and our folkloric structure to future generations. For this purpose, students who graduate after two years of education start working as masters, master instructors and designers in institutions and organizations. The main target is to contribute to the national economy by the workforce it has trained,increasing the social status of women and training qualified personnel.

    Our Institute; it has undertaken the task of producing and promoting Erzurum, Bayburt, Kars, Ardahan, Ağrı and Iğdır with the belief that the cultures and folkloric structures of these provinces are a unique resource. In addition, it has been working  to uncover our emotional history and pass it on from generation to generation. Erzurum Maturation Institute, which is the miracle of Turkish needles and a part of the maturation institutions, also endeavors to serve the ancient civilization of Erzurum city and its surroundings.
